PHL Navy Commander a Philippine bet in Mrs. Universe 2023 in Bulgaria

Recently-crowned Mrs. Universe Philippines Northeast Asia 2022 Philippine Navy Lt. Commander Lady Chatterly Alvaro Sumbeling was one of six Mrs. Universe beauty queens who represented the Philippines in the Mrs. Universe 2022 on January 30 – February 5, 2023 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Chat, as she is fondly called, is Urdaneta City’s first female graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio City. She is a member of PMA Mandala Class of 2006 and serves in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as Lt. Commander of the Philippine Navy.
At present, she is assigned at the Presidential Security Group (PSG) in Malacanang where she has the honor and privilege to serve and protect current President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
On concurrent capacity, she is PSG’s Chief Civil Military Operations Officer (G7) with the role of bringing the PSG and the Presidency closer to the people.
She was awarded the Order of Lapu-Lapu by former President Rodrigo Duterte in recognition of her service rendered as a PSG trooper.
Multi-talented Chat was also a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Medal (OAM) for composing the music and lyrics of “Bayanihan Para sa Kapayapaan” which was adopted as official theme song of the AFP’s Infernal Peace and Security Plan in 2012. The OAM was awarded by the late former president Noynoy Aquino.
Chat loves breaking barriers. She won and currently holds two major titles in the beauty pageant arena She is also recently nominated as a contender for the Republic Defender’s search for the “Outstanding Women in Law Enforcement and National Security (OWLENS) 2022” which empowers and recognizes the excellent contributions of women in said fields.
For this year, her latest achievement was winning the “Mrs. Universe Ph Northeast Asia 2022” last October and the title “Mrs. Model Mom Metro National 2022” January, this year. She is honored and privileged to represent our country to the international arena in January 2023 for the “Mrs. Universe 2022” in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Chat graduated from the Urdaneta National High School (UNHS) Batch 2000 as one of the pioneers of its Science Class Curriculum.
Chat’s parents are both from Urdaneta City in Pangasinan. Her father Elias Fernandez Alvaro is from Barangay Pinmaludpod and her mom, Fe Untalan Ignacio, is from Barangay Nancayasan. She is the 5th in the family of six.
